SCO summit: Countries agree on new economic dialogue, joint declaration signed
Member countries signed eight documents


Islamabad: In the 23rd session of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), the member countries have agreed on a new economic dialogue and signed the joint declaration of the meeting.
The Summit of the SCO was held at the Convention Center Islamabad in which eight documents were signed between the member countries. The leaders of the member countries approved the issues related to the budget of the organization. On the occasion of the meeting, the document related to the SCO Secretariat was also approved.
The SCO member countries signed the document on the regional counter-terrorism executive committee while also agreeing on the new economic dialogue. The heads of the member countries signed the document on the new economic dialogue.
Later, the presidency of the SCO heads of government was handed over to Russia. The next meeting of the SCO heads of government will be hosted by Russia in 2025. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Russia for getting the presidency of the organisation.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif while addressing the closing session of the SCO summit said that he congratulates Russia for getting the chairmanship of the meeting of the organization. Pakistan will continue to play its full role for the development of the region.
