EPA DG issues a notification in this regard


Lahore: Following the worsening smog situation, the Punjab government has directed to install air purifiers in shopping malls and plazas across the province.
Punjab Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) director general Imran Hamid Sheikh has issued a notification in this regard, directing the management of all the shopping malls in plazas in the smog effected districts of the province.
According to notification, owners of shopping malls and plazas have been advised to ensure the availability of clean air for customers. “The number of air purifiers must be adequate and reasonable,” read the notification.
On other hand the smog situation remained haunting in most parts of the province on Sunday. Despite the lockdown in different parts of provincial capital, citizen had no respite from the hazardous level of the smog.
With the decreasing mercury and increasing moisture level in atmosphere has intensified the smog situation, forcing the people to putting their lives at health.
Reportedly, thousands of citizens have rushed to the hospitals and medical facilities with different ailments; influenza, soar throat and eyes itching.
On Sunday morning, Lahore remained in the grip of dense smog with visiblity reduced to a few meters in the suburban areas.
