The government has announced that 17.8 million people have been vaccinated as of Monday morning.

20 regions in Italy were announced as ‘’white’’ in a decree that took action on Monday, according to a classification system that evaluates Covid-19 risk on the basis of four colors, white being the lowest risk category.

This implies that facemasks are no longer mandatory outdoors. This is news is pleasing for the country as the current heatwave is expected to propel temperatures past 40 degrees Celsius in some southern areas this week.

The locals admit that it is a delight to longer wear the masks due to the impending heat.

But many people are still very concerned about the virus and are still sticking to wearing the masks, while some choose to wear it out of habit.

The citizens still believe that the threat is not completely over and therefore they have not completely dropped the idea of face mask.

Italy, being one of the most unfortunate countries when it comes to coronavirus- with images of coffins trucks in army trucks- has finally seen a marked decrease in infections and deaths in the past weeks.

Tourists from the European Union (EU), United States, Japan and Canada have been finally allowed to return to their respective homelands. The government has lifted the requirement of a quarantine for vaccinated visitors and for those who test negative.
