People consuming up to 200 units of electricity per month will be given free 1100-watt solar system


Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme has been launched for 0.1 million consumers in Punjab.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz formally inaugurated the CM Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme, to which consumers of Punjab can apply from home through SMS or online portal from today.
The provincial energy secretary, while giving a briefing about the CM Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme, said that under the scheme, 100,000 solar systems will be installed throughout the year. People consuming up to 200 units per month in the province will be given free solar systems and 52,019 people consuming 100 units per month will be given free 550-watt solar systems.
It was informed in the briefing that consumers consuming up to 200 units of electricity per month will be given an 1100-watt solar system free of charge and a computerized draw will be held for transparency in the CM Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme.
On this occasion, Maryam Nawaz said that the Free Solar Panel Scheme aims to provide permanent relief to the public from expensive electricity.
7.3 million consumers of Punjab have benefited from the subsidy of Rs14 per unit. Public resources will be spent only for the convenience and relief of the public, she added.
