No matter what pressure is put on us, Pak-China relationship will ‘not change’: PM
Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has reaffirmed that no matter what pressure is put on Pakistan, its relationship with China will not change.

While speaking to Chinese media in Islamabad, PM said that the relationship between China and Pakistan only got stronger with time.
“Even on international political forums, Pakistan and China always stand together. Now when you talk about region, there is a strong power rivalry taken place. You see United States (US) vary of China and this is all public knowledge. US has created an alliance with India and couple of countries and it creates problem for us and we have to take sides. We should have good relations with everyone. But Pakistan will never downgrade its relation with China because the association between the two countries is very deep. Because it’s not just government but people to people relationship. To sum up whatever will happen, relationship between the two countries, no matter what pressure is put on us, will not change,” PM said.
Imran Khan further said that For Pakistan’s relationship with China has always been very special.
“Whenever Pakistan was in trouble, whether politically, internationally or when we had conflict with neighbors, China always stood with us. People of China have special place in hearts for people of Pakistan. You only remember a friend that stands with you in difficult times because in good times every one stands with you,” PM said.
Referring to coronavirus situation, Prime Minister said that the way china dealt with Covid-19 pandemic was unique.
“China really stands out in the way it has dealt with Cocvid-19. We are very thankful to China for helping us and providing us with vaccines. After China, Pakistan is one of those countries that have done very well in dealing with coronavirus pandemic. Pakistan stands out in this whole region in tackling coronavirus and it is because China provided vaccine very early on and the first thing we did was to vaccinate the health workers and then vulnerable groups,” he said.
