President’s objections to seminaries’ bill nothing to do with FATF: Tarar

Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar says President Asif Ali Zardari’s objections on Madaris registration bill are legal and constitutional.

In a social media post, he said the objections do not have any connection with the FATF and there is no mention of FATF in these objections.

He said it is not in favor of anyone to do politics on legal and constitutional matters.

He said linking the registration of religious seminaries with the FATF has nothing to do with reality and it is tantamount to only speculation.

Attaullah Tarar said the President has raised constitutional objections and the correction in it will be made from the parliament as per the constitution.

He said that unnecessary statements and mere criticism to target the prerogative of the President and Parliament should be avoided.
