Strict action will be taken against violations without discrimination


Lahore: A complete ban on fireworks has been imposed on New Year's Eve in the provincial capital Lahore, the Environment Protection Agency has formally issued a notification.
Deputy Commissioner Lahore Syed Musa Raza said that no fireworks will be set off on the New Year. Strict action will be taken against violations without discrimination, the ban notification has been issued in view of air pollution.
He stated that the district administration is trying to combat smog, and citizens should also cooperate. Especially children, the elderly, and sick people should be protected from the harmful effects of smog, taking care of their health is the top priority.
DC Lahore further said that air pollution can cause health problems among citizens, and strict measures are being taken for a clean and healthy environment.
