Foggy conditions persist in Punjab, and motorways have been closed at various places


Lahore: A severe cold wave continues across the country, including the provincial capital Lahore.
The upper reaches of the country are experiencing bitter cold, while in some areas the mercury has dropped well below the freezing point. In Skardu, the mercury has dropped to -11, while in Gopis and Astore it has dropped to -10, and in Leh, the temperature has been recorded as -9.
In Gilgit and Kalam, the mercury has dropped to -7, -6 in Bagrot and Hunza, and -4 degrees Celsius in Dir and Chitral. In the upper reaches, the mountains have covered themselves with a white sheet, and the valleys and views are beautiful.
People are facing difficulties due to heavy snowfall in Chitral, and land connectivity to the upper reaches of Chitral has been cut off.
Meanwhile, foggy conditions persist in the plains of Punjab, and motorways have been closed at various places due to heavy fog.
According to a Motorway Police spokesperson, Motorway M4 is closed from Abdul Hakim to Multan, and Motorway M5 has been closed from Multan to Rohri due to low visibility.
Motorway Police has advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel.
