They strongly condemned decision to convict PTI founder and Bushra Bibi in Al-Qadir Trust case
Rawalpindi: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced that to challenge the decision in the £190 million case in the higher courts.
The PTI leader and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Omar Ayub, while talking with other party leaders outside the Parliament House, said that they strongly condemn the decision to convict PTI founder and Bushra Bibi in the Al-Qadir Trust case, and will also challenge this decision in the High Court.
Omar Ayub stated that Nawaz Sharif's son Hassan Nawaz should be questioned about how he took the money with which he bought the One Hyde Park building in London and then sold it again, what did he do with this money? Today he is roaming around freely.
On the other hand, Senator Shibli Faraz said that it is very sad that thieves are roaming freely while innocent people are in jail.
He stated that the biography of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was to be taught at the Al-Qadir Trust University. This money was neither in the PTI founder’s account nor did it benefit Bushra Bibi.
It is pertinent to note that Judge Nasir Javed Rana of the Accountability Court, while delivering the verdict in the 190-million-pound reference related to the Al-Qadir University Trust in Adiala Jail, sentenced the PTI founder to 14 years in prison and his wife Bushra Bibi to 7 years for corrupt practices.
In addition, the court also sentenced the PTI founder to a fine of Rs1 million and Bushra Bibi to Rs0.5 million, while the Accountability Court also ordered the Al-Qadir University to be taken into government custody.
