Current account was in surplus of $582 million in Dec 2024

Karachi: Pakistan’s current account has been in surplus for the fifth consecutive time.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the country’s current account was in a surplus of $582 million in December 2024.
Thus, during the first six months of the fiscal year 2025, the country’s current account was in a surplus of $1.21 billion.
The current account deficit in the first six months of the fiscal year 2024 was $1.397 billion.
The country’s current account has increased by 109 percent in December 2024 compared to December 2023.
