Chief Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan issued an eight-page verdict while hearing a case. The CJ has made Ahadisth and internationl laws the part of the decision.

The decision asks the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to ensure private residential societies reserve places for graveyards.

The decision says a citizen keeps paying taxes on goods to the government the entire life, but his heirs have to pay for his burial, so the government should make practical steps to facilitate citizens in the light of islamic laws and Muslim traditions.

It's the responsibility of the government to bear expenses of burials, the societies provide free transportation, look after graveyards and plant saplings there.

The court also ordered to construct model graveyards in four cities and make the Shahar-e-Khamoshan Authority functional. The orders also asked the government to recruit officials on merit.

The LHC ordered the sub registrar properties with original documents to appear in the hearing of the case on July 27.
