Maharashtra: Eight people were killed in an explosion at an ordnance factory in the Indian state of Maharashtra.
According to Indian media, an explosion took place on Friday at an ordnance factory in Nagpur, Maharashtra, the sound of which was heard about 5 kilometers away.
Indian media reports that eight factory workers were killed and seven injured in the factory explosion, a Union Minister confirmed.
According to Indian media, the explosion at the ordnance factory took place at 10:30am on Friday in the LTP section. As soon as the information was received, the fire brigade and rescue personnel reached the scene of the accident and immediately shifted the injured to the hospital.
According to fire officials, the explosion was so severe that the roof of the factory also collapsed, trapping the workers under it, of which three workers were pulled out alive and one died under the rubble.
