Chinese and Indian officials will meet soon to discuss framework
China and India have agreed to resume direct air services after five years.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed his readiness to resume direct air services during a meeting with Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Masri in Beijing.
According to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, direct flights between China and India have been agreed to resume.
Chinese and Indian officials will meet soon to discuss the framework for the resumption of flights.
It is pertinent to note that relations between the two countries have been tense since the 2020 military clashes in the disputed border area between China and India, and direct air services between the two countries were suspended in 2020.
