A new study has revealed that bacteria in the gut can affect mental health.
Experts say that the trillions of bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms in the human gut are not only important for our digestive and immune systems, but they can also affect our mental health and way of thinking.
According to neuroscientist John Cryan of University College Cork in Ireland, these microbes in the human body not only help in absorbing nutrients but also have significant effects on mental health and behavior.
Recent research has also shown that these gut microbiotas can also help treat mental disorders such as depression, anxiety, and schizophrenia.
