With revenue of Rs872bn, FBR has achieved growth rate of 29pc on monthly basis


Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is facing a huge revenue deficit of Rs468 billion during the first 7 months (July-January) of the current fiscal year as the tax machinery could collect only Rs6,496 billion against the set target of Rs6,964 billion.
The revenue deficit of the Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) is increasing with each passing month as the provisional collection figures for January 2025 show that the FBR has collected only Rs872 billion in January 2025 against the desired target of Rs956 billion.
With a revenue collection of Rs872 billion, the FBR has achieved a growth rate of 29 percent on a monthly basis.
The revenue deficit during the first six months (July-December) of the fiscal year was Rs384 billion which increased with an additional increase of Rs84 billion in January 2025. Thus, the overall deficit in the first seven months has increased to Rs468 billion.
