‘Suspect had been living in Libya since 2013 and was running human trafficking network’

Lahore: The main suspect in the Libya boat disaster, Muhammad Iqbal, has been arrested at Lahore Airport.
According to FIA Director Sarfraz Wark, the suspect had been living in Libya since 2013 and was running a human trafficking network. Illegal transactions worth 80 million rupees were also traced from the suspect's account.
The FIA Director stated that the suspect was involved in the illegal transfer of funds, which he used to send money from Libya to the human trafficking network. The suspect was on the blacklist and had several cases registered against him.
It is worth noting that in June 2023, a boat carrying migrants from Libya to Greece sank near Greece, with more than 100 Pakistanis among the victims.
