General Asim Munir emphasizes that people of Pakistan, especially youth, have strong connection with Pakistan Army

(Rawalpindi): Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir has stated that Pakistanis are proud of their religion and culture and will never allow groups like the Khawarij to impose their outdated beliefs on the country.
The army chief made these comments while addressing students from various universities in Pakistan. He emphasized that the people of Pakistan, especially the youth, have a strong connection with the Pakistan Army. He also mentioned that efforts by anti-state groups to create a rift between the army and the public have always failed and will continue to do so.
"As long as the nation, especially the youth, stands with us, the Pakistan Army will never be defeated," he said. "We fight together, and Pakistani identity is our priority."
General Munir further stressed that Pakistanis take pride in their religion, culture, and traditions. He questioned the beliefs of the Khawarij, asking, "Which version of Shariah and religion do they follow?" He emphasized that their outdated ideology would never gain ground in Pakistan.
The army chief also acknowledged the bravery of the people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, who stand firm against terrorists. He explained that the army is fighting against the Khawarij daily and disagrees with their distorted view of Islam. "Islam was the first religion to honor women, whether as mothers, wives, or sisters," he said. "No one has the right to take away this respect."
General Munir questioned, "Who are the Khawarij to strip women of their dignity?" and stressed that such misguided groups will never be allowed to impose their values on Pakistan.
The army chief concluded by reiterating that the Pakistan Army is fighting against those who misinterpret Islam, saying that those who surrender to the state can expect mercy.
