Facebook announces new 30-day limit for storing live videos

(Web Desk): Facebook has announced a significant change in its social media network. This change is particularly important for individuals who are accustomed to live video streaming on Facebook. The company has announced that live videos will now only be stored on the social media network for 30 days, after which they will be deleted. Previously, these videos were stored indefinitely on Facebook.

This marks a major change for Facebook in 2025, which could permanently alter the platform. Meta has decided to fill Facebook and Instagram with AI-driven users. The change took effect on February 19.

According to the company, videos older than 30 days that are still saved on Facebook accounts will also be deleted. However, users will receive notifications before the videos are deleted and will be given a 90-day grace period to save their old live videos elsewhere. Users will be able to download these videos to their devices, transfer them to cloud storage, or convert them into a reel.

The company explained in a blog post that this change would help provide Facebook users with an up-to-date live video experience. However, the company did not clarify why this change was implemented suddenly. New tools are also being introduced by Facebook to help users download old live videos.
