Court ordered more than 120 arrested PTI workers to submit affidavit at police station


Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has granted bail to more than 120 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers arrested in the wake of the November 26 protest and ordered their immediate release.
A bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif of the IHC granted bail, with lawyers Ali Bukhari, Babar Awan, Murtaza Turi, and others appearing in the court.
The court ordered more than 120 arrested PTI workers to submit an affidavit at the police station.
The Acting Chief Justice of the IHC directed that they submit an affidavit that they will not commit such a crime in the future. The court granted bail against bonds of Rs20,000 and ordered the immediate release of all the workers.
It is pertinent to note that during the PTI protest on November 26, the police had detained several workers, for whose release the court was approached.
