PMD warns of possible flash floods in vulnerable areas of upper KP and AJK

(Web Desk): The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted a new spell of rain starting tomorrow (Monday) across various parts of the country.
A westerly wind system is expected to enter Pakistan, bringing rain, with hail likely in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad. Northern areas, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan, are forecast to receive snowfall, while some areas in these regions may experience rain.
This forecast comes after heavy rainfall recently hit Islamabad and Rawalpindi for the first time in nearly four months, providing much-needed relief to the area amid a growing water shortage.
Other parts of Punjab and KP also saw rainfall, including Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, and Hafizabad, after a long dry spell.
The PMD has said that cloudy weather with rain and snow is expected in northeastern and western Balochistan, and parts of KP on Monday. The weather will be partly cloudy in Gilgit-Baltistan and AJK. On Tuesday, rain is expected in Murree and the Galliyat area, with wind, thunderstorms, and isolated hailstorms in northeastern Punjab.
The PMD has also warned of possible flash floods in vulnerable areas of upper KP and AJK, advising tourists to avoid unnecessary travel.
