CM Punjab stated that it would be easier for female students, patients to travel

Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to run special buses for rural women for the first time in the country's history.
A special meeting was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in which the proposal to start a mass transit system consisting of 25 buses in remote districts in phases was reviewed. The meeting agreed to start a bus service from every rural tehsil to the district headquarters.
Maryam Nawaz has called for a comprehensive plan for inter-village transportation of rural women. She also directed to take immediate steps to provide subsidies to women passengers in the mass transit system. Following the instructions of Maryam, Punjab's first Women Transport Solution Plan will be prepared.
Speaking on the occasion, the Punjab Chief Minister said that a modern transport system is also the right of women living in villages. The lack of a transport system is extremely painful for rural women. The provision of a modern transport system will increase the confidence of rural women.
She added that it would be easier for female students and female patients to travel. It is extremely sad to see rural women traveling in public transport in uncomfortable conditions.
