Talks between Pakistan and the IMF will continue for two weeks


Islamabad: A delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has arrived in Pakistan for talks.
According to media reports, the delegation, led by the Finance Secretary, will meet IMF officials.
The talks between Pakistan and the IMF will continue for two weeks.
The IMF delegation will be led by Nathan Porter, while the Pakistani delegation will be led by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.
It is also reported that the IMF delegation will hold talks with officials from the Ministry of Finance, the Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR), the Power Division, and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
Pakistan will submit a report on the implementation of the conditions of the $7 billion loan program and the first half of the current fiscal year to the IMF.
The IMF delegation will also be briefed on taxes on agricultural income.
It is also reported that the IMF will be informed about taxes on the property sector.
A report on the implementation of the condition of bringing retailers into the tax net will also be submitted to the IMF.
The IMF delegation will formulate recommendations for releasing $1.1 billion to Pakistan.
