Google Wallet launches in Pakistan
Users can make payments at contactless terminals, shop online, and pay in apps where Google Pay is accepted

(Web Desk): Google Wallet has officially launched in Pakistan, offering a digital platform for users to store payment cards, boarding passes, and loyalty cards on their Android devices. This new service aims to make transactions easier and more convenient for consumers.
With Google Wallet, customers from several banks can now link their debit and credit cards to the app, enabling them to make contactless payments using Android phones and Wear OS devices. More banks are expected to join the service in the future. Users can make payments at contactless terminals, shop online, and pay in apps where Google Pay is accepted.
Besides payments, Google Wallet also allows users to store digital copies of boarding passes from select airlines and save reservations made through online ticket platforms. Loyalty program members can also access and manage their reward cards digitally.
The app focuses on security, using tokenization to protect financial data. Each transaction is secured with a device-specific alternate card number and a dynamic security code. Users must verify their identity before adding a card, and all data is protected with screen lock security. If a device is lost or stolen, the Find My Device feature helps users lock or erase their information.
Google Wallet is now available for Android users in Pakistan, with more features expected in the future.
