Investigations into motives behind assault are ongoing

Amritsar: In a shocking incident at the Golden Temple, two individuals entered the revered Sikh shrine and attacked people with an iron rod. The assault left five people severely injured, with three of them reported to be in critical condition, sparking fears of fatalities.
Indian media reports indicate that the attack occurred near the community kitchen, or Guru Ram Das Langar, where a large crowd had gathered. Among the injured were two sewadars (volunteers) affiliated with the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), who are believed to have been assisting in the Langar.
Local police acted swiftly, apprehending two suspects at the scene. One of the detainees is the attacker, while the other is believed to be his accomplice.
