Political and military leadership has decided to deal with terrorists and insurgents with an iron fist


Islamabad: A statement from the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, chaired by the Speaker of the National Assembly, has been released.
The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister, members of the Parliamentary Committee, political leaders, the Army Chief, senior defense and government officials, and top security agency officers.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif read out the statement at the meeting. According to the statement, the Parliamentary Committee on National Security strongly condemned the recent acts of terrorism. The national political and military leadership has decided to deal with terrorists and insurgents with an iron fist.
The statement further mentions that the national political and military leadership has decided to utilize all available resources for the complete elimination of terrorism.
It was stated that the committee thoroughly reviewed the current national security situation and the recent wave of terrorism. It condemned any expression of sympathy towards extremist terrorist organizations in Afghanistan. The statement emphasized the need to enforce national and essential laws to counter terrorism and the importance of fully supporting institutions in this regard.
The statement also highlighted the need for a coordinated and organized strategy to eliminate the facilitators of terrorists. Effective action will be taken against any group supporting terrorism. The committee recommended strict action against those promoting terrorism narratives on social media.
According to the statement, the committee emphasized that Pakistani institutions must have complete freedom in enforcing laws and handling national security matters. The committee further stressed that all necessary measures must be taken to eliminate terrorism. It also recommended providing resources to enhance the performance of law enforcement agencies. The committee expressed regret over the absence of some opposition members and stated that the consultation process will continue.
The statement concluded with the Parliamentary Committee emphasizing that no institution, individual, or group should show weakness in the fight against terrorism. A strong and coordinated strategy should be implemented to ensure national security.
