Torkham border crossing was closed for all types of traffic on Feb 21

The Torkham border crossing between Pakistan and Afghanistan has been opened for foot traffic after 28 days.
According to immigration officials, foot traffic has started at the Torkham border crossing after 28 days. A large number of people going to Afghanistan are currently present in the Torkham immigration section, but only passengers with passport visas are allowed to travel to Afghanistan.
According to officials, an average of 10,000 people travel to Afghanistan through the Torkham border daily.

The authorities say that the Torkham border crossing was closed for all types of traffic on February 21 due to tension between Pakistan and Afghanistan, but the Torkham border was opened for trade three days ago.
During the tension between Pak-Afghan forces, the immigration system came under fire, and foot traffic was suspended due to a technical malfunction in the immigration system.
