Facebook lands into trouble again
London: The famous social networking site, Facebook is facing a second London High Court class action over allegations that it failed to protect the personal data of around one million people in England and Wales, in the latest lawsuit born of a scandal over data collection.

The Information Commissioner Office (ICO) of UK fined approximately $ 687,000 to Facebook in 2018 for unfairly handling user’s personal data, by allowing app developers to access user's information without clear and informed consent between 2007 and 2014.
“The Information Commissioner’s Office investigation into these issues … found no evidence that user data from the UK or the EU was transferred by the app developer (This Is Your Digital Life, Dr Aleksandr) Kogan at Cambridge Analytica," said a Facebook spokesperson.
Cambridge Analytica, denied using the data for the 2016 US election campaign.
The Journalist and writer, Peter Jukes said that he took legal action for substantial damages three years when the Facebook was fined in Britain for how the third-party application (This Is Your Digital Life) collected data from users without consent between 2013 and 2015.
The lawsuit is the second to allege that Facebook allowed third-party apps to harvest data without their permission or knowledge of users.
