Deadline for expressions of interest for PIA privatization is set for June 3, 2025


Islamabad: It has been decided to sell 51 to 100 percent shares of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), for which expressions of interest have been invited.
According to the Privatization Commission, the deadline for expressions of interest for the privatization of the national airline is set for June 3, 2025.
According to the commission, expressions of interest have been invited for the privatization of the national airline. Through privatization, management control of the national airline will also be given to the prospective investor.
According to the commission, prospective investors will be given incentives, and an 18 percent GST exemption will be given on purchasing or leasing new aircraft. Some liabilities included in the balance sheet of the national airline will also be transferred to the investors.
In addition, protection or coverage will be provided for certain taxes and legal cases.
