New financial assistance will benefit 9.3 million people in Pakistan

Islamabad: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has announced an additional $330 million in aid for Pakistan’s social protection program.
According to the bank, the new financial assistance will benefit 9.3 million people in Pakistan, including poor women and their families.
The Asian Development Bank says that the financial assistance will include conditional cash transfers for education to children and youth and increased access to health and nutrition for women and children in disaster-affected areas.
Releasing its annual report, the bank further said that countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Kyrgyzstan are still facing serious challenges, including poverty and limited access to basic amenities.
On the other hand, Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb met with Asian Development Bank President Masato Kanda, in which assistance was requested in providing partial credit guarantees for the issuance of Panda Bonds.
