Concrete reasons for treaty suspension will be sought in notice through diplomatic channels

Islamabad: Pakistan has decided to give notice through regular diplomatic channels on India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty.
According to media reports, after legal and constitutional consultations on the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Water Resources, and the Ministry of Law have done their initial homework. Concrete reasons for the suspension of the treaty will be sought in the notice through diplomatic channels.
It is also being considered to register a strong protest at international forums against the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty. India’s water aggression will be brought to the attention of the world in an effective manner. The move aims to give legal and moral justification to Pakistan’s position.
Pakistan has legal precedence over the Indus Waters Treaty. It is hoped that India will review its decision soon. All steps will be taken after the approval of the government and the cabinet.
It is pertinent to note that Pakistan has never violated the Indus Waters Treaty and always abides by international laws.
