Affected people should immediately stay away from birds

Karachi: There has been an increase in the number of lung diseases spread to humans from pigeons in Karachi.
According to the details, respiratory specialist Dr Muhammad Irfan said that 15 to 20 cases of bird fencers' lungs are being reported weekly in a private hospital. Most women are affected by bird fencers' lungs, a disease spread by pigeons.
He stated that particles of pigeon feathers and feces accumulate in the respiratory tract, and these particles cause allergies and lung inflammation. Pigeon feather particles enter homes through windows and ACs.
Dr Muhammad Irfan also said that patients may need steroids, oxygen, or lung transplants. It is important to stay away from pigeons and take precautions to prevent the disease. Affected people should immediately stay away from birds.
On the other hand, Civil Hospital officials have stated that several cases of respiratory diseases are reported daily. There is no specific classification of these diseases, and no case of shortness of breath in female patients without any disease has yet come to light.
