National Security Committee authorizes Pakistan Army to reply Indian aggression
Indian action was declared clear violation of Pakistan's sovereignty and territorial integrity

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to address the National Assembly and take the members into confidence on the Indian aggression and Pakistan’s befitting reply.
The emergency meeting of the National Security Committee, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has ended. Senior military officials, ministers, and other important figures participated in the meeting.
According to the statement, the forum offered Fateha for the innocent civilians martyred in Indian attacks, expressed heartfelt sympathy to the families of the martyrs and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
The National Security Committee considered the grave situation arising from India’s unprovoked, cowardly and illegal act of war.
The statement said that on the night of May 6 and 7, the Indian armed forces carried out coordinated missile, air and drone attacks on the sovereign territory of Pakistan, including the areas of Sialkot, Shakargarh, Muridke, and Bahawalpur in Punjab, as well as the areas of Kotli and Muzaffarabad in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the statement, these attacks were unprovoked and unjustified and deliberately targeted civilian areas, which India targeted under the false pretext of the presence of so-called terrorist camps, resulting in the martyrdom of innocent men, women and children and damage to civilian infrastructure, including mosques.
The statement said that this aggressive move by India also put commercial flights of brotherly Gulf countries at serious risk, putting the lives of thousands of passengers at risk. In addition, the Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project was also deliberately targeted, which is a clear violation of international conventions.
The NSC strongly condemned these illegal actions, which were described as a blatant violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and which clearly fall under the category of acts of war under international law.
According to the declaration, under Article 51 of the UN Charter, Pakistan has the right to respond in self-defense, and Pakistan reserves the right to avenge the martyrdom of its innocent citizens and blatant violation of sovereignty at any time, place and by any means, and Pakistan’s armed forces have been given full powers to take appropriate action in this regard.
The declaration said that the NSC calls on the international community to recognize the seriousness of India’s unprovoked and illegal actions and hold India accountable for its blatant violations of international laws and regulations.
The National Security Committee statement said that Pakistan is committed to peace with dignity and respect and makes it clear that it will never compromise on its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the security of its honorable nation.
