His retirement came after disappointing five-Test series against Australia

Mumbai: Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma has now retired from Test cricket after T20.
Sharing a story on the photo and video sharing platform Instagram, the Indian captain announced his retirement from Test cricket.
He wrote, “Hello everyone, I would just like to share that I am retiring from Test cricket. It’s been an absolute honour to represent my country in whites”.
Thank you for all the love and support over the years. I will continue to represent India in the ODI format, he added.

It is pertinent to note that Rohit Sharma's retirement announcement came after a disappointing five-Test series against Australia.
He scored only 31 runs in 3 Test matches during this series.
The five-Test series between India and England is starting from June 20 at Headingley. Before that, India will have to nominate a new permanent captain for the white format.
