These funds have been released to the DCs so they can immediately strengthen emergency security arrangements in their respective districts

Lahore: In light of the situation arising from recent Indian aggression, the Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has made a major and significant decision by approving an Internal Security Fund of Rs2 billion for the Punjab Home Department.
According to government sources, these funds have been released to the Deputy Commissioners so they can immediately strengthen emergency security arrangements in their respective districts. District administrations have been instructed to ensure the availability of ration, medicines, and fuel at all costs.
Pakistan has destroyed India’s S-400 missile defense systems in Udhampur and Bhuj, while the Indian airfields in Suratgarh and Naliya have also been wiped out.
A statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office clarified that the funds have been allocated purely for public welfare and emergency preparedness, to ensure the public does not face any difficulties. All law enforcement agencies, civil defense forces, and rescue services across Punjab—including in Lahore—have been placed on high alert.
The statement further noted that the Pakistan Armed Forces are giving a firm and comprehensive response to the enemy’s aggression. Citizens have been advised not to believe in rumors and to rely only on verified information from authentic sources. The public has also been urged to avoid unnecessary travel and stay indoors.
Given India’s aggression and the possibility of an emergency situation, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched a wide-scale civil defense initiative for volunteer training across the province.
Within just 48 hours, more than 50,000 volunteers have completed Community Emergency Response Training provided by Rescue 1122 and Civil Defense. On the special instructions of the Chief Minister, simulation drills are underway at training centers. Special emphasis is being placed on emergency rescue, firefighting, CPR, fracture management, first aid, and controlling bleeding.
Citizens are also being trained in emergency warning systems, use of sirens, safe evacuation procedures, and life-saving techniques. A four-hour training program has been designed, and citizens can register via a mobile app, web portal, or by directly contacting the nearest Rescue station.
This civil defense training is a practical step toward empowering the public so that every individual can play their role in times of crisis.
