IMF review mission recommended to release tranche after reviewing Pakistan’s economy

Karachi: Pakistan has received a tranche of $1.23 billion from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) confirmed the receipt of the tranche of $1.23 billion from the IMF and said that the IMF has released the money as the second tranche of the EFF loan program.
The State Bank stated that the IMF review mission had recommended the release of the tranche after reviewing Pakistan’s economy. The IMF Executive Board approved the release of the money on May 9.
The amount of the second tranche will be part of the foreign exchange reserves as of May 16, 2025.
