IMF delegation assures Pakistan of the Fund’s continued support


Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday reaffirmed his commitment to fast-track institutional and macroeconomic reforms in Pakistan.
The prime minister made these remarks during a meeting with a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) led by Jihad Azour, Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department. The meeting took place in Islamabad and focused on the ongoing IMF programme in Pakistan.
PM Shehbaz stated that Pakistan is now moving towards economic growth after achieving a degree of economic stability. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the government’s reform efforts and acknowledged their positive impact.
The IMF delegation also assured Pakistan of the Fund’s continued support in helping the country maintain stability and achieve sustainable economic progress.
