Indian actress Ridhi Dogra’s patriotism questioned over Fawad Khan film
‘Abir Gulaal’ was set to release on May 12 but was delayed due to India-Pakistan tensions after the Pahalgam incident

(Web Desk): Indian actress Ridhi Dogra, who stars alongside Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in the Bollywood film ‘Abir Gulaal’, revealed that she faced criticism in India for calling for a ban on the film due to Fawad’s involvement.
Ridhi Dogra is part of the cast of ‘Abir Gulaal’, whose release was postponed following the Pahalgam incident. After the incident, several Indian actors demanded a ban on the film’s release, including Ridhi herself.
However, the actress has now disclosed that despite supporting the ban, she was subjected to criticism.
According to India Today, Ridhi Dogra expressed her frustration during an interview with Hindustan Times, saying she was taunted for demanding a ban on the film while also acting in it alongside a Pakistani actor.
She stated that critics questioned her patriotism, asking how she could work with a Pakistani actor while simultaneously demanding a ban on the film. Ridhi responded that those criticizing her should understand that she, too, is a citizen of India — just as much as anyone else.
She complained that her patriotism was unfairly questioned simply for supporting a ban on a film featuring a Pakistani actor. She added that she stands with her country and armed forces, which is why she supported the film’s postponement. Still, she faced backlash.
‘Abir Gulaal’ was originally scheduled for release on May 12, but due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam incident, its release was delayed.
