United Nations has described the ongoing civil war in Sudan as the world’s largest humanitarian crisis

(Web Desk): At least five people have been killed and several others injured in a horrific attack on a United Nations aid convoy heading to El Fasher, a famine-stricken city in western Sudan.
According to the British newspaper The Guardian, trucks belonging to UNICEF and the World Food Programme (WFP) were en route to El Fasher when they were targeted in the area of Al-Kouma, which is considered a stronghold of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
It is worth noting that El Fasher has been under siege by the RSF for over a year, leading to severe shortages of food and medicine. The United Nations has already issued a famine warning.
According to a UNICEF spokesperson, the convoy was awaiting security clearance at the time of the attack. Both agencies have called for an immediate investigation.
So far, the attackers have not been officially identified, but both the Sudanese army and the RSF have blamed each other for the incident. A local group, the “Al-Kouma Emergency Room,” released a video of the attack and blamed Sudanese army drones.
The United Nations has described the ongoing civil war in Sudan as the world’s largest humanitarian crisis. So far, 4 million people have fled the country, and 11.6 million have been internally displaced.
Volunteers in El Fasher have reported that markets are deserted, people are facing starvation, and the limited supplies being transported on donkeys are subject to inspections at RSF checkpoints.
