Several of the injured are reported to be in critical condition

(Web Desk): During celebrations following Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) historic victory in the Indian Premier League (IPL) final, a tragic stampede resulted in the deaths of at least seven people and left more than 25 injured.
According to reports from The Times of India and NewsMeter, the festive atmosphere in Bangalore turned into a disaster after RCB’s thrilling win in the IPL 2025 final. Thousands of fans had gathered outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium when a stampede-like situation erupted, leading to multiple casualties. Several of the injured are reported to be in critical condition.
RCB clinched their maiden IPL title on Tuesday by defeating Punjab Kings by six runs in the final played in Ahmedabad, ending their 18-year title drought. Following the historic win, massive celebrations broke out in Bangalore. Thousands of fans gathered outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium and near Vidhana Soudha on Wednesday evening to welcome the team.
An open-top bus victory parade had initially been planned, but was later cancelled by traffic police due to security concerns. Despite this, a large number of fans showed up at the stadium hoping to catch a glimpse of their heroes.
As the crowd attempted to push into the stadium, the situation spiraled out of control. In the chaos, people were trampled and suffocated as they fell over one another.
The deceased and injured were taken to Bowring Hospital and Vydehi Superspeciality Hospital, where officials fear the death toll may rise. Among the injured is a six-year-old girl.
