Manila: The government has declared a health emergency in the Philippines after a sharp increase in HIV cases.
HIV cases in the Philippines have increased by 500 percent, prompting the Philippine Health Minister to declare a nationwide health emergency.
Of the new cases, 95 percent were diagnosed with HIV in men, with 80 percent of the men affected being between the ages of 15 and 34.
