Prisoner who committed suicide has been identified as Raza


Karachi: The body found hanging from a house in the Maripur area of Karachi was found to be that of a prisoner who escaped from Malir Jail.
DIG South said that it appears to be a suicide. The fugitive prisoner had gone to jail in a drug case registered at Eidgah police station. The prisoner who committed suicide has been identified as Raza.
He stated that a case was registered against the prisoner at Eidgah police station on March 30, 2022.
Police officials say that prisoner Raza had made a video before committing suicide in which he said that he had also escaped from the jail with the prisoners, he was also injured during the escape, and after escaping from the jail, he kept walking for a long time.
According to the police, 126 prisoners who escaped from Malir Jail have been recaptured. A total of 216 prisoners had escaped, while 90 are still at large. The data of the homes of the escaped prisoners has been compiled, and they will be arrested soon.
Police officials say that action will be taken against the prisoners who do not return voluntarily, while the security of the prison has been further tightened.
