Elections will be held any day in the first two weeks of April 2026

Dhaka: Bangladesh's interim leader, Muhammad Yunus has announced that the country will hold general elections in April 2026.
According to media reports, Muhammad Yunus said in an address to the nation that the general elections in Bangladesh will be held any day in the first two weeks of April 2026.
Muhammad Yunus said that the Election Commission will release the complete schedule of the elections in the coming days.
He further said that the interim government was managing the country on the mandate of reforms, justice, and elections. The work in this regard in the country will be completed by the upcoming Eid al-Fitr.
