Most parts of the country are expected to remain hot and dry in next 12 hours

(Web Desk): Pakistan is expected to receive its first spell of monsoon rains from June 25 to July 2, 2025, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
PMD Deputy Director Anjum Nazir said the monsoon system will begin on Wednesday, June 25, and continue into the first week of July. He added that Karachi is currently experiencing extreme heat due to low atmospheric pressure over the Arabian Sea, with "feels like" temperatures reaching as high as 50°C.
However, relief is expected soon as sea breezes are forecast to resume by Thursday evening. From June 19 onward, the weather in Karachi is likely to remain cloudy with chances of light morning and evening drizzle.
In the next 12 hours, most parts of the country are expected to remain hot and dry. However, isolated areas in North-East Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and parts of South-East and Eastern Sindh may see partly cloudy weather with dust or thunderstorm-related rainfall.
Morning temperatures recorded in major cities were: Islamabad 25°C, Lahore 29°C, Karachi 31°C, Peshawar 26°C, Quetta 22°C, Gilgit and Muzaffarabad 20°C, and Murree 18°C.
