According to tender document, no bid for import of sugar less than 25,000 tons will be accepted

Islamabad: The federal government has officially started the process of importing 500,000 metric tons of sugar.
Trading Corporation Pakistan has issued the first tender for the import of 300,000 tons of sugar and has invited sealed bids from international suppliers/manufacturers for the import of sugar by July 18.
According to the tender document, no bid for the import of sugar of less than 25,000 tons will be accepted.
The document states that the import of sugar is being done through TCP at the official level, and the federal government has exempted all taxes on the import of sugar.
According to the tender document, the government has decided that the imported sugar will be of coarse grain and high quality. In addition, the federal government has made inspection of sugar mandatory after shipment.
It is pertinent to note that to stabilize sugar prices, the federal cabinet had approved the import of 500,000 metric tons of sugar last week.
