Flooding at Taunsa, Guddu and Sukkur Barrages in Indus River

In the Indus River, there is moderate flooding at Taunsa Barrage, while there is low flooding at Guddu and Sukkur Barrages.

According to the Flood Forecasting Division, the inflow and outflow of water at Taunsa Barrage is 426,000 cusecs. In addition, the water level in Tarbela Dam has reached 1,527 feet and in Mangla Dam 1,184 feet.

The water level in the Indus River is continuously increasing at Rajanpur, Ghotki, and Taunsa, while several settlements in Taunsa have been submerged.

On the other hand, people are being evacuated from the slushy areas of Rajanpur to safer places.

Commissioner Ashfaq Chaudhry visited Ghazi Ghat on the Indus River and reviewed the flood situation.

He said that there is a risk of river and mountain floods in Taunsa, Koh Suleman, and DG Khan, in view of which relief camps and medical camps have been set up, while the rainy rivers of Koh Suleman are in flood.

According to Commissioner DG Khan, a flood of 32,000 cusecs was recorded in the Vidor river, 12,400 cusecs in the Suri river, 5,000 cusecs in the Wahwa river, 7,000 cusecs in the Sangar river, and 14,000 cusecs in the Mithawan river.

He said that the administration has been alerted, the protection of people's lives and property is the first priority, and there is no major threat at present.
