Singapore retains its position as the most powerful passport in the world

(Web Desk): For the second half of 2025, Pakistan once again ranks near the bottom in the list of the world’s most powerful passports.
In the Henley & Partners Passport Index, released for the period from July to December 2025, Singapore retains its position as the most powerful passport in the world.
According to the list, published on the night of July 22, holders of a Singaporean passport can travel to 193 countries visa-free.
Two other Asian countries, Japan and South Korea, share the second spot, offering visa-free access to 190 destinations.
The third position is jointly held by six countries — Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, and Spain — with visa-free access to 189 countries.
Belgium, Austria, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, and Sweden rank fourth, allowing access to 188 countries without a visa.
Greece, New Zealand, and Switzerland share the fifth spot with visa-free access to 187 countries.
The Henley Index ranks passports based on travel freedom and ease of access to other countries. Notably, the US passport has dropped to 10th place, a significant decline for what was once considered the world's strongest passport.
According to the company's statement, the US is on the verge of falling out of the Top 10 for the first time in the index's 20-year history.
Which Passports Improved the Most?
Henley noted that the UAE passport has shown the most rapid rise over the past decade, climbing 34 spots to now rank 8th.
Similarly, China's passport has improved by 34 places over the past 10 years and currently holds the 60th position.
Pakistan has been ranked as having the fourth weakest passport globally.
Overall, Pakistan shares the 96th spot with Somalia and Yemen, offering visa-free access to only 32 countries.
