Met Department has advised relevant authorities to take precautionary measures to mitigate potential risks of urban flooding or landslides


(Web Desk): The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain in several parts of the country starting next week.
Intermittent showers are expected from July 28 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and other regions.
The Met Office stated that weak monsoon currents have already entered the upper parts of the country and are likely to intensify from July 28.
A new system of westerly winds is expected to affect the upper regions of Pakistan, potentially causing intermittent rainfall in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan from July 27 to 31.
From July 28 to 31, various districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa — including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Mansehra, Abbottabad, and Waziristan — are likely to receive rainfall.
In Punjab, rain is expected in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat, and Sheikhupura, among several other cities.
The PMD also predicted rainfall in the northeastern and southern parts of Balochistan between July 29 and 31.
While most of Sindh will experience hot and humid weather, areas such as Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Jacobabad, and Larkana may receive rainfall.
