Approximately 100 passengers were on board at the time

(Web Desk): A passenger train derailed in southwestern Germany, resulting in the deaths of three people and leaving several others injured.
According to German media, at least two carriages of the train came off the tracks. The accident occurred on Sunday in a border area near France. Approximately 100 passengers were on board at the time.
The train operator reported that storm warnings had been issued for the area prior to the accident. The incident took place at around 6:10 PM local time.
Police officials stated that preliminary investigations suggest the derailment of the carriages led to the crash, which caused three fatalities and left several passengers critically injured.
Images from the scene show overturned carriages, fallen trees, and emergency responders, including firefighters and ambulances, working to rescue and assist the injured.
The German Chancellor expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased.
