Instagram introduces repost feature for users
The feature is currently available for users in the United States and is gradually being rolled out globally

(Web Desk): Photo-sharing platform Instagram has officially introduced a repost feature, allowing users to share their friends’ posts directly.
However, reposted photos will not appear on the user’s main profile. Instead, they will be visible in a dedicated section of the profile specifically for reposted content.
According to Instagram, the feature is currently available for users in the United States and is gradually being rolled out globally.
This new update enables users to reshare any post to their feed, where it will appear as a new post. Previously, Instagram only allowed users to reshare others’ content via Stories, but there was no option to repost regular posts to the feed.
In addition to this, Instagram is planning to introduce another feature soon, which will allow users to open a reel and view a customized feed containing only posts from their friends.
It’s worth noting that Instagram had previously tested a repost button in 2017 and 2022, but the feature was never made available to users until now.
