In addition, foreign students and media personnel will be subject to regular screening and monitoring

(Web Desk): The Trump administration has decided to limit the duration of visas across several categories.
According to international media reports, the duration of visas for foreign students and journalists will be restricted. Since 1978, international students holding F visas were allowed to stay in the US for an indefinite period.
The Department of Homeland Security stated that allowing unlimited stays for students and others has been detrimental to American citizens. If the proposed regulation is approved, the stay of foreign students will be limited to the duration of their academic programs.
Homeland Security further noted that under the new rule, international students would not be allowed to remain in the US for more than four years, while foreign media representatives would initially be permitted to stay for 240 days.
In addition, foreign students and media personnel will be subject to regular screening and monitoring.
